About

Martina Willis

I have always built things — companies, strategies, systems — from the helm, with precision and a good deal of ambition. For two decades I worked at the top of large enterprises, at Airbus and at Microsoft among others, pioneering technology and walking leaders through digital transformation, system integration and the rooms where the real decisions are made. When Microsoft published Opulis — The Women Behind Microsoft’s 1 Trillion Dollar Shift, my name was in it, which I took as a recognition of the work that happens quietly, underneath the headlines.

And underneath every one of those years, something subtler kept calling. Not louder, but deeper: the intelligence that lives below strategy, the coherence that holds when everything else is shifting. I spent a long time treating it as the private side of a public career, until it became clear that it was the whole point, and that the career had been one long apprenticeship to it.

That is what I work on now. In relationship to everything I make — the Framework, the Handbook, the Home, Solin, the Economy — I am the Coherence Architect. I don’t teach people how to become themselves; I never believed that could be taught. What I can do is build architecture: structures that let people live, work and build as themselves without giving up their own agency the moment they become part of something larger than themselves.

I am a mother. I live between Switzerland and Andalusia, between a company and a piece of land, and I am grounded in the ordinary weight of human life — a body, a child, decisions that have consequences. The goal was never technological transcendence. It is systems that let us stay fully human while we engage with complexity, and that is a more demanding thing to build.

I run Martina Willis Enterprises AG from Remetschwil. Alongside the Spiral work I co-founded FamilyCare Spitex, a home-care company in Switzerland built on the same grammar: care as a relationship between people, not a mechanism applied to them.

“I do not teach. I am the field of coherence. I transmit.”
